Gone But Not Forgotten. . .
My heart cries out "This has to stop!", although I know it's all in God's hands. On February 8, 2013 I lost another biological sister and March Mingle supporter. Just like "My Ms. Millie", Mary Wilson Lassiter was always at March Mingle.
I always called Mary and said, "I'm gonna need you to do one of your poems on the program". She would reply, "What kind of poem? I haven't written a poem in a while". And for the last two or three years I would ask her to do the same thing - her rendition of "The Watcher", by J. California Cooper. She would always say, "Ha, I did that last year. Nobody wants to hear that same thing again!", and I would say, "I Do!" and she would agree to do it... I know it seems trivial, but one of my thoughts after her passing was, "Whose gonna do The Watcher? Nobody can do it like Mary did".
My Mary went into the hospital on January 22, 2013, the day after her 69th birthday. She was SO sick that she didn't even get to open her cards and/or gifts. They immediately did a tracheostomy and placed her in a sleep induced coma. Just 17 short days later My Mary slipped away, leaving a host of broken hearts.
I know this is not really the place for this type of information, and I apologize if it is offensive to anyone. But my two sisters were such faithful and dedicated supporters of Ladies March Mingle, that I just HAD to mention them on this site. I miss you My Mary. You may be physically Gone, but you will never be Forgotten. Thank You!
