Sister Rita Cannady and Sister Glennie Latten began Ladies MARCH MINGLE in 2004, and paid for it out of their own pockets for the first three years. In 2007, we received assistance from the Sisters-In-Service ladies ministry, and Community, Archdale, and Southern Hills churches of Christ. We were very excited, because it was the first time anyone had offered to help sponsor this event ... and God knew we would need it because it was the largest group of ladies we had hosted up to that point. Our attendance was over 200!
We realized at that time, we were not going to be able to sponsor such a large group without some form of assistance. So in 2008, we began requesting a modest $20.00 Registration Fee that, to God be the glory, has remained the same all of these years, although the price of EVERYTHING else has risen. The monies received from the Registration Fees is used to help subsidize the cost of the venue, food, and other expenses incurred to host Ladies MARCH MINGLE.
We have a very hard time, because we start at "Financial Ground ZERO" every year, and we use every cent that we receive to host each gathering. The coordinators are not paid for their service. They say, "Our pay is Hope that God will be pleased, and continue to bless this ministry".
